💬 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Booking & Visits

How do I book an appointment?
You can request an appointment online using the “Schedule a Visit” buttons throughout the website, or call/text me directly at (448) 488-4345.

Can a family member schedule on behalf of a client?
Yes. Family members, adult children, spouses, or caregivers can schedule visits as long as the client is aware of the visit and appropriate contact information and consent are provided.

How long does a visit take?
Most visits range from 45-60 minutes, depending on the service type, care needs, and whether it is an initial assessment or follow-up visit.

What does a visit cost?
Pricing is listed on the Services & Pricing page. Costs vary based on the type of private RN visit, foot care, wellness support, wound monitoring, or physician-ordered service requested.

Where do you provide services?
I provide private in-home nursing and senior foot care visits throughout Washington, Holmes, and Jackson Counties in Northwest Florida, with Chipley as my home base. Visits outside my standard service radius may include a travel fee that is always discussed in advance.

Can you come to my home?
Yes. All services are provided in the comfort of your home, as well as assisted living communities, senior centers, and approved residential care settings.

Will I have the same nurse every visit?
Yes. Every visit is provided directly by me. There is no rotating staff, no unfamiliar faces, and no handoff to an agency scheduler.

Scope, Safety & Nursing Standards

Is this podiatry?
No. I’m a nurse, not a podiatrist. I provide routine preventive foot care, skin and circulation checks, diabetic foot-focused monitoring, education, and comfort care within RN scope. If I see something concerning, I will recommend podiatry or physician follow-up.

Do you replace a doctor or home health agency?
No. I do not replace your physician, prescribe medications, or provide services requiring insurance-based home health. My role is to provide private nursing support, monitoring, prevention, education, and coordination between provider visits.

Do you work with physician-ordered services?
Yes. When a physician order is required for wound care support, post-surgical monitoring, injections, or certain skilled nursing services, care is provided within Florida RN scope and coordinated appropriately.

What infection control measures do you follow?
I follow strict nursing standards, including the use of single-use items, sterilized instruments, gloves, proper hand hygiene, and disinfected supplies between every client visit. Safety is always the priority.

Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. I am a licensed registered nurse in the state of Florida, fully insured, and accredited by the BBB. I also maintain active professional memberships including the American Foot Care Nurses Association.

Do you provide emergency or on-call services?
No. I am not an emergency provider. For urgent or life-threatening concerns, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Gift of Footcare Program

What is the Gift of Footcare program?
The Gift of Footcare is a community-supported local care program that helps seniors receive gentle in-home nursing foot care when finances, transportation, or limited family support make regular visits difficult.

Who can nominate someone?
Family members, neighbors, church members, caregivers, social workers, facility staff, community partners, and seniors themselves may all submit a nomination.

How do I sponsor a gifted visit?
Community members can securely sponsor a visit through the Gift of Footcare page, helping cover supplies, travel, and the cost of compassionate nurse-led foot care for a local senior.

Where can I learn more about the program?
You can learn more, submit a nomination, or sponsor a visit on the Gift of Footcare community page.

About Nurse Dawn

Who is Nurse Dawn?
I’m a licensed Florida RN providing private in-home nursing, senior support, and preventive foot care throughout Northwest Florida. My work is rooted in calm, hands-on care that helps families stay ahead of problems before they become crises.

Are you an actual nurse?
Yes. I am a licensed registered nurse who stepped away from traditional bedside work to focus on personal, prevention-focused care that puts people first.

Why did you start Nurse Dawn, LLC?
After years in traditional healthcare, I saw too many seniors and families fall through the cracks between rushed appointments, agency turnover, and reactive care. Nurse Dawn, LLC was built to bring nursing back to what it should be: personal, honest, local, and hands-on.

What makes private nursing different?
Private nursing means professional RN support delivered directly to your home with time to listen, assess, teach, and help prevent bigger issues before they happen. No waiting rooms, no rushed visits, and no middle layers.
